PRESS RELEASE: New single and video from composer Molly Herron
Molly Herron releases second single and video from album Through Lines
Today, composer Molly Herron releases the second single from her upcoming album Through Lines (due 8/27) with a video created by Four/Ten Media.
“'Lyra' is the joining of two techniques: one ancient and one modern," says Herron. "The strings of the viola da gamba are tuned to the specifications of an early manuscript. The central player, Zoe Weiss, plays with a newly developed harmonic pluck. At the meeting point is music that floats timelessly between these two worlds."
Elia Rediger's Oh Albert, an LSD Oratorio
Out now, Oh Albert is an LSD oratorio by Elia Rediger, an award-winning Swiss artist, singer, and composer. Created to accompany an hour-long concert film by Gregor Brändli, Oh Albert is a musical tribute to Albert Hofmann, the pharmaceutical researcher who, in 1943, accidentally discovered the hallucinogenic qualities of LSD in Rediger’s hometown of Basel, Switzerland. Performed by the Basel Sinfonietta under the direction of Etienne Abelin, and recorded in an old Basel army barracks, the live album is an homage to the drug that revolutionized brain science, psychology, and popular culture.
