On November 23, 2021, Arooj Aftab was nominated for two GRAMMY Awards—one for Best New Artist and one for Best Global Musical Performance—for her 2021 New Amsterdam Records release, Vulture Prince.
The Brooklyn-based Pakistani composer has also been championed by former President Barack Obama, Pitchfork (Best New Music & Best New Track), NPR, BBC, Bandcamp Daily, The New York Times, The Guardian, TIME, among numerous noteworthy national and international media outlets.
