PRESS RELEASE: Out Now: Third Installment of Matthew Evan Taylor's Epic "The Unheard Mixtapes"
Saxophonist + Composer Matthew Evan Taylor Releases Third Installment of His Epic The Unheard Mixtapes
Composer and saxophonist Matthew Evan Taylor released the third installment of his Metropolis Ensemble-commissioned five-part series "The Unheard Mixtapes. Mixtape 3 of 5, as the title "Chamber Music" implies, offers Taylor’s most direct connection to Western classical music, with two passacaglias and two nocturnes anchoring the album. As Ashleigh Gordon says in her notes, though, the music “lies in a space that transcends Western classical music; drawing upon the visual, physical, and spiritual worlds in a richly unique tapestry of color, movement, time and space.”
