Adam Holmes
ADAM HOLMES is a musician specializing in contemporary and world percussion. He has premiered hundreds of new works in professional and educational settings, working with composers such as Glenn Kotche, Gemma Peacocke, Florent Ghys, Fjola Evans, and more. A regular freelancer, he has performed with many groups in and outside of New York City, including Contemporaneous, Sandbox Percussion, and The String Orchestra of Brooklyn.
Adam received degrees from New York University and the Mannes School of Music. His recordings can be heard on Cantaloupe Music and National Sawdust Tracks, with several more releases on various labels slated for the 2018-19 season. He is currently on staff at the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival, where he was a percussion fellow in 2015.
Adam lives in Gowanus, Brooklyn, where he maintains a private teaching studio and cooks stir fried vegetables on a regular basis.
